Opportunities for Students

Both graduate students and undergraduate students are welcome to join the Research Team for projects during the 2018-2019 academic year. Students who are on the Research Team may take PSY495 or PSY595 Directed Research credits for participation.

The focus of projects will be school psychology assessment practices for English Language Learners, and will include both quantitative (survey, analysis of archival data) and qualitative projects.

The research group is a great place to learn more about both the topics we are studying as well as how to conduct research. We welcome students at all levels of preparation, ranging from advanced graduate students to beginning undergraduates. Tasks and responsibilities are assigned based on knowledge and preparation, with the goal of helping all members of the group learn and develop as researchers. The requirements are to attend meetings and contribute as you are able to based on your level of development. Opportunities for co-authorship on posters and publications are available for students on level of contributions to projects.

The research group will meet on a regular basis every 1 to 2 weeks, and students are welcome to be involved in all aspects of the projects, including literature reviews, development of studies, data collection and analysis, and writing and reporting of the research results.

If you are interested in joining the research group, please contact Dr. Marrs at Heath.Marrs@cwu.edu.
